A new independent jewellery and creative workshop business will officially open its doors at Marshall’s Yard this Saturday, 12 September.
Hidden Gem, based in Britannia House, is run by local memorial jeweller and silversmith Kelly Hewison, who has relocated her growing business from a smaller space at Brigg Garden Centre.
To mark the official opening, Hidden Gem will host a special open day from 10am until 7pm, coinciding with the 1940s event taking place in the fountain area at Marshall’s Yard.
Visitors will be invited to explore the new shop and studio, with 10% off all handmade jewellery and jewellery workshops booked on the day, as well as a complimentary glass of fizz.
Alongside creating memorial and silver jewellery, Kelly offers minor jewellery repairs and can also repurpose older pieces of jewellery.
The new studio will host weekly workshops, ranging from silver jewellery making and pottery painting to needle felting and other crafts.
Kelly hopes to develop Hidden Gem into a creative hub for the local community, working with local artisans and makers to collaborate and host workshops from the space.
Kelly Hewison, owner of Hidden Gem, said: “I’m really excited to be part of Marshall’s Yard and I’m hoping to create a real hub for local crafters and artisans.
“I’d love people to come along to the open day, have a chat and take a look around the new shop and studio.”

Hidden Gem can be found at Britannia House, Marshall’s Yard, and is open Tuesday to Friday from 9:30am to 5pm and Saturday from 10am to 3pm. Workshops can also be booked outside of these hours.
