It’s spring at Marshall’s Yard – and the team have been busy planning an egg-citing day of Easter themed fun for shoppers of all ages on Saturday April 4th.

From 11am until 2pm, visitors can enjoy a great line up of seasonal entertainment throughout the day.

Youngsters can hop, skip, and jump into lots of FREE activities at the centre – transforming into their favourite characters at the centre’s free face painting station, available from 11am to 2pm.

Illuminate 2026 transformed the streets of Gainsborough on Saturday into a vibrant spectacle of colour, creativity and community spirit.

This year’s theme, ‘Through the Window’, inspired schools, artists and community groups to explore imagination, perspective and storytelling through beautifully crafted lanterns and performances. The result was a magical parade weaving through the town’s streets before culminating in a lively celebration in the Market Place, where large crowds gathered to enjoy the festivities.

Waterstones to open in Gainsborough’s Marshall’s Yard

Waterstones in Marshalls Yard is set to open this Spring.

Marshall’s Yard, the award-winning retail and leisure destination in Gainsborough, will welcome the leading bookseller Waterstones to its line-up early this spring.

The new Waterstones bookshop will occupy a prominent 5,123 sq. ft. unit at the centre, marking a significant new addition to the centre.

The arrival will create new jobs locally and further strengthen Marshall’s Yard’s offer with a well-loved national brand, bringing something new and highly anticipated to the centre.

Marshall’s Yard Festive Fayre Arrives This Weekend

It’s never too early to step into the festive spirit, and Marshall’s Yard has a fabulous two-day Festive Fayre on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th November from 10am – 3pm – kindly sponsored by Gleeson Homes.

Visitors can experience Marshall’s Yard wrapped in seasonal sparkle, and brimming with traditional Christmas cheer.

This year’s Festive Fayre will be bursting with seasonal fun and opportunities to pick up some artisan Christmas gifts. There will be live festive entertainment including traditional Christmas brass bands, more than 20 gift traders, and a delicious selection of seasonal treats.

Community spirit shines at Gainsborough Christmas Lights Festival

Not even the rain could dampen the festive spirits at this year’s Gainsborough Christmas Lights Festival, where visitors of all ages came together to kickstart the festive season in style.

The one-day event on Friday 14 November, saw Market Place come alive with light displays, a funfair, live music, street theatre, Santa’s grotto and two elves called Figgy and Pudding, who were there to ‘spread Christmas joy and make sure everyone’s on the nice list.’

The festive highlights included musical performances by local schools, live music from talented local bands and artists, plus giant juggling elves, Mr Twist the balloon man and Inka the Polar Bear, who all interacted with the crowds to create a wonderful atmosphere and entertain people of all ages.

Marshall’s Yard strikes gold in 2025 East Midlands in Bloom Awards

The green-fingered team at Marshall’s Yard in Gainsborough are celebrating this week after achieving the prestigious Gold Award in the annual East Midlands in Bloom Awards.

The popular shopping centre also won the Best Retail / Commercial Award in a special ceremony held in Grimsby showcasing the region’s brightest and best floral displays.
