More than 15 events to celebrate the power of words at Gainsborough WordFest

Gainsborough WordFest

Residents and visitors are invited to immerse themselves in a day of stories, creativity and imagination as WordFest returns this September.

Gainsborough is the next destination for WordFest, building on the success of events already held in Welton, Nettleham and the Wolds, including activities in Caistor and Market Rasen.

With more than 15 events taking place across the town in a single day, the festival promises something for every age and interest, from children’s theatre and family workshops to inspiring talks from authors, creative writing sessions and performances.

Venues across Gainsborough will come alive on Saturday, 12 September, throughout the day, giving visitors the chance to discover new stories, meet talented writers, enjoy live performances and take part in hands-on creative activities.

Among this year’s programme are:
  • Mishap Theatre tell the story of ‘What shall we do, Winnie the Pooh?’ with family kite craft workshop
  • Author Gillian Poucher presenting A Question of Perspective
  • Helen Hagon exploring Lincolnshire: Home of Poets
  • Barmpot Theatre’s family puppet show ‘To the Moon and Back’
  • Discover your hidden strengths in writing workshops with Busy Corner Books
  • Plus many more talks, workshops, performances and literary activities across the town.

More details will be announced soon on our dedicated WordFest page.
