Saturday 18 June, 1.30pm to 5.30pm
See one of the largest hand-built model railways in the country! It depicts the East Coast Main Line from Kings Cross to Leeds Central with replicas of some famous locomotives such as Flying Scotsman, Papyrus and Mallard.
Tractor Day at Marshall’s Yard
Sunday 19 June, 11am to 4pm
Come and visit Marshall’s Yard this Father’s Day to see the fantastic display of tractors. The tractors will arrive from 11am and set up in the display area in the centre of the car park and will be on display until 4pm. Hear the engines in action through out the day.

Explore the town
There are also other great places to visit including Gainsborough Old Hall, one of England’s best preserved timber-framed manor houses. Explore this magnificent building and discover its fascinating history including its magnificent Great Hall. Wander the winding corridors and up dead-end stairs and see how feasts were prepared in one of the best surviving medieval kitchens in the country. You can also climb the 59 steps to the top of the tower for views across Lincolnshire.
Delve in to the town’s history at Gainsborough Heritage Centre (open Saturday only 10am to 4pm) where you’ll find artefacts, displays and exhibitions that covers Gainsborough’s significant industrial and domestic history. Head upstairs where you’ll find a replica Victorian Post Office and an impressive street scene dating back to the early 20th century that will leave you feeling nostalgic. You can also visit their current exhibition ‘Gainsborough is “Bloomin’ Brilliant”‘ which celebrates the past, present and future of Gainsborough, with an emphasis on its rich history.
There are so many great places to walk in and around the town. Take a gentle stroll along the Riverside Walk, connecting the Trent Bridge to the Town Centre and see the bronze statue of The Pilgrim Woman. Or why not try Gainsborough’s heritage trail takes you to some fascinating points of interest, some you may not have noticed before.
Just under an hours drive brings you to the Lincolnshire Wolds with miles of stunning countryside. There are a number of walking routes around Market Rasen, plus an interactive heritage trail. Willingham Woods is also popular with walkers and cyclists and is a great stop off if your visiting the coast.
The Great Gainsborough Treasure Hunt
Can you find the hidden treasure? Follow the clues around ‘Old Gainsborough’ to find the chest of gold! There will be a reward at the end, so get your treasure-hunting-heads on to solve the puzzles! Pick up a trail in Wilkos in Marshall’s Yard or the library for free!

Family Days Out
If you’re looking for something more hands on; why not visit Rand Farm Park?! Discover exciting hand on experiences with a wide variety of animals and live demonstrations. You can also take a drive out to Hall Farm Park (30 minutes from Gainsborough), a family run working farm with lots of things to see and do giving visitors a unique experience. Woodside Wildlife Park also offers hands-on access to some exciting animals!
Bransby Horses also offers great day out an is home to more than 300 horses, ponies, donkeys and mules. Bransby Horses is a Lincolnshire based charity with a visitor centre, café, play area and miles of walks to enjoy.
If you’re more energetic then Wild Pines Park is the place to be! It’s one of the UK largest rope courses in UK offering you the chance for a unique and adventurous day out in the trees.
