Seven Super Summer Days Out this August

So, summer 2023 isn’t really what we had hoped for! Rewind 12 months and we were enjoying bright sunny days, complaining it was too hot, and wishing for a bit of rain (mad, isn’t it?!).

We can’t travel back in time, and sadly we haven’t found anyone yet who can control the weather. With that being said, let’s do what we do best and get on with it and make the best of what we’ve got!

New ‘Lunch Fest’ launched at Marshall’s Yard

Get ready for a brand new festival coming to Marshall’s Yard this August that will tantalize anyone’s taste buds.

Taking place over the August Bank Holiday Weekend (Friday 26, Saturday 27 and Monday 28), Lunch Fest is a new three-day food and drink market that will tempt foodies with a great line up of street food traders, licensed bars and flavoursome dishes including a vegan quarter.

Local theatre to perform at Gainsborough Heritage Centre

Young people from Gainsborough will perform a short play inspired by Gainsborough Heritage Centre this Saturday 1 July.

Under Starry Skies is a celebration of Gainsborough and a play that unearths hidden stories from a post-war Britain. Told by an ensemble of young performers, this performance allows us to see the past through a new perspective. The piece was inspired by a visit to Gainsborough Heritage Centre and uses objects from their collection to inspire storytelling.

Revive Festival brings local & international communities together

Crowds flocked to Gainsborough Town Centre to soak up the sun and enjoy the first ever Revive Festival.

The day was packed with a fantastic line up of entertainers both from abroad and at home on Saturday 17 June, offering something for everyone to enjoy.

The event was organised by West Lindsey District Council in collaboration with the SO Festival in Skegness and Mablethorpe. It was a huge success and was full of music, dancing and laughter, making it impossible to miss as you passed by.

Festival Line Up Announced!

West Lindsey District Council is delighted to launch its brand new ‘Revive Festival’ in partnership with Magna Vitae Trust for Leisure and Culture.

Four incredible international performers from France, Germany and Spain will be arriving in Gainsborough featuring group acrobatics, live music, dance, street theatre and a fabulous stunt duet. They will be performing alongside local music and dance artists in what is set to be an incredible fun-filled day.

This exciting event will take place throughout the town centre and is FREE for people to attend. It will take place on Saturday 17, June 2023 from 9am to 6pm.

Plaque dedicated to workers of Roses of Gainsborough unveiled by history group

The Delvers History Group unveiled a new ‘blue plaque’ at the weekend, dedicated to the workers of Roses of Gainsborough.

The plaque is one of 17 that can be found around the town that tell the lesser-known stories that link to Gainsborough’s fascinating past.

Invited guests gathered at the Riverside in Gainsborough where members of the Delvers History Group, along with founding member Thelma Childs, celebrated the final plaque recognising the significance this local company had in the town. The event also received fantastic support from the public as a crowd formed to watch.
